The conference I attended was held
at Brock University and was regarding the Ontario Colleges of Teachers. The
conference was a lecture/informational session that was conducted by Liz
Papadopoulos, Chair of Council, and Michael Salvatori, Chief Executive Officer
and Registrar. The conference discussed the benefits of becoming a member as
well as how to become a member. One of the benefits of becoming a member was
the access to teacher resources as well as an OCT card that offers teachers
benefits. For example, this card could be used to purchase instructional
resources and discounts on field trips for classroom purposes. This
informational session also provided us teacher candidates with knowledge
regarding additional qualifications. I choose to include this presentation on
my blog as I felt it gave important information for teachers so that they can
continue professional development, as well provide services for their students
with possible discounts and resources.
